School is our second home, where we spend the majority of time living and learning. Therefore, a good school environment is the precondition for our health and growth.
However, I am sorry to have witnessed some improper behaviour among us students: scribbling and littering everywhere. Not only does it destroy our school environment, it is also a spoiler of the image of our school.
This issue is now crying out to be solved and it should be a common concern for the school administration, staff, and all the students. In my humble view, the school should place more dustbins around the set up specific rules against those rude practices. At the same time, students should be encouraged to develop good habits and enough awareness of environment protection.
I hold a firm belief, with the joint effort of all people concerned, that our school will become a more enjoyable place in the near future. I am looking forward to a more tidy school, and a more beautiful world.

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment. Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. In the early years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. As a result，the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. What horrible scene!
What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. If we don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.
Measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. Second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. Third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems.
Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.

On the other hand,many people insist that environmental protec-tion should be a top priority.They hold that it is the rapid and unrestrict-ed development of economy that leads to the present situation in which most parts of the world are polluted.If the problem is left unsolved,someday we may not survive on this planet,let alone develop our econ-omy.
In my opinion,both economy and environmental protection are our urgent tasks at hand.Without economic development,we would remain backward.And without environmental protection,we would lose our homes.It seems that the best solution is to develop environ-mental-protection-oriented enterprises so as to "kill two birds with one stone".
