　　I was discouraged because I wanted to know why we as a culture wait until somebody has passed away before we tell them how much we love them.Why do we wait until someone`s ears can`t hear before we let them know how much they mean to us?Why do we wait until it is too late before we recall the good qualities of a person?Why do we build someone up after they have gone into eternity?What good does it do then?We share memory after memory,as we laugh,cry,and think back about what was positive in a person`s life.Yes,it does help us cope with the grief of losing someone who was special to us,and,yes,it does bring those who are coping closer together.Unfortunately,as we lovingly rememeber this person,our words fall short of the ears that most needed to hear them.

　　Just once I would like to see a celebration of life instead of a gathering of death.A celebration where stories are told,eyes mist over,laughter rings out,and as the speaker concludes his or her loving tribute,the person they are honoring rises from his chair and gives them the biggest bear hug!Wouldn`t that be something!The special people get to hear the stories and come to the realization that they have made a difference on this earth,and all this is done well before they leave their earthly bodies and go into etrnity.When the inevitable funerals finally come,we can say good-bye with the knowledge that they knew exactly how people felt about them while they were here on earth.

　　我很沮喪，因?yàn)槲蚁胫�道為什么我們要等待那么久，直到別人去世了，才告訴他們，我們有多么愛他們?為什么我們要等到別人耳朵都聽不到了才讓他們知道他們對(duì)我們有多么重要?為什么我們要等到已經(jīng)來不及的時(shí)候才回想起別人的優(yōu)點(diǎn)?為什么要等別人死后才將他樹為楷模?那時(shí)候再做又有什么用呢?我們分享一個(gè)又一個(gè)的記憶，我們一會(huì)兒笑一會(huì)兒哭地回憶著他一生中的重要時(shí)刻.是的，這的確幫助我們應(yīng)對(duì)失去一個(gè)對(duì)我們很特殊的人的悲傷，也會(huì)讓有同感的人更緊密.不幸的是，當(dāng)我們生動(dòng)地回憶這個(gè)人時(shí)，最需要聽這話的人卻聽不到我們的話語了.

　　我只想看哪怕一次生命的慶典而不是死亡的聚會(huì).在這個(gè)慶典中，人們講著趣事，眼光交流，笑聲四起，而當(dāng)演講者講完他或她的愛的情意時(shí)，他們尊敬的人從椅子上站起來，緊緊地與其擁抱.這不是件天大的好事嗎!那些對(duì)我們有特殊意義的人應(yīng)該聽到那些故事，然后意識(shí)到他們?cè)谑澜缟现圃炝瞬煌�，所有這一切都應(yīng)該在他們離開他們塵世的肉體，去往永恒之前做好.這樣當(dāng)最終的葬禮到來的時(shí)候，當(dāng)我們和他們說再見之即，同時(shí)明確地知道他們了解生前人民對(duì)他們的想法.
