Thou art not so unkind
As man's ingratitude(忘恩負(fù)義) ;
Thy(你的) tooth is not so keen(敏銳的，渴望的)
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.
Heigh ho! sing heigh ho! unto(到，直到) the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning(假裝) , most loving mere folly;
Then, heigh ho! the holly!
This life is most jolly.
Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh(在附近的，直接的)
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp(彎曲，偏見(jiàn)) ,
Thy sting(刺痛，諷刺) is not so sharp
As friendship remember'd not.
Heigh-ho! sing heigh-ho! unto the green holly:

友交皆虛妄，恩愛(ài)癡人逐。
噫嘻乎冬青!
可樂(lè)惟此生。
不愁冱天冰雪，
其寒尚難遽及
受施而忘恩;
風(fēng)皺滿池碧水，
利刺尚難比
捐舊之友人。
噫嘻乎!且向冬青歌一曲：
友交皆虛妄，恩愛(ài)癡人逐。
