通過(guò)個(gè)性和愛好的問(wèn)答，主考官可以初步判斷面試者的性格特點(diǎn)是否適合職位的需要。性格外向（extroverted）的人往往容易給人留下熱情活潑、思維敏捷但不夠沉穩(wěn)的印象，這類性格的人在面試時(shí)說(shuō)話的節(jié)奏要適當(dāng)放慢，語(yǔ)言組織要得當(dāng)，注意給人以博學(xué)多才、見多識(shí)廣的良好形象。性格內(nèi)向（introverted）的人則容易給人留下深沉有余、反應(yīng)遲緩的感覺，在面試時(shí)，這類性格的人要力爭(zhēng)積極回答，并就某一重大觀點(diǎn)展開論述，以彌補(bǔ)自己性格上的不足。從事的專業(yè)崗位如與自己的興趣愛好相吻合則能使人工作得更愉快、更積極，也更有利于出成果。
應(yīng)試者應(yīng)該根據(jù)應(yīng)聘職位的需求，盡量的使用適當(dāng)?shù)脑~語(yǔ)形容自己的個(gè)性特點(diǎn)。例如，應(yīng)試者如果應(yīng)聘秘書的職位，那么他（她）在形容自己的個(gè)性特點(diǎn)時(shí)應(yīng)盡量選用類似efficient （有效率的）、careful（辦事仔細(xì)的）、responsible（負(fù)責(zé)的）等詞語(yǔ)而不應(yīng)該選用purposeful（有目的的）或 liberal（心胸寬大的）等不著邊際的詞語(yǔ)。
